  • Employment & collaboration data: CVs, applications, or proposals if you apply to work with us or collaborate.
  • Photography, video & audio: Images and recordings captured during your stay or at our events.
  • CCTV footage: For safety and security purposes at certain retreat properties.

4. CCTV & Security Monitoring

Some of our retreat locations use CCTV for the safety of our guests, staff, and property, and to prevent, detect, or investigate potential criminal activity.

  • What we collect: Video footage (no audio).
  • Purpose: Security, crime prevention, and compliance with local laws.
  • Storage: Footage is kept for a limited time (typically 5–30 days depending on location) unless required longer for legal or security reasons.
  • Legal basis: Legitimate interest in maintaining a safe environment, and in some destinations, compliance with local regulations.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to:

  • Deliver the services you’ve booked.
  • Comply with legal, accounting, and tax obligations.
  • Resolve disputes or defend legal claims.

Booking and guest data is typically kept for 5 years, unless local law requires longer. Optional medical information is deleted shortly after your stay.

Retreat life is full of moments we love to capture and share. By booking with The Salty or entering our properties, you agree to the following:

  • Consent by participation: By being onsite or joining activities, you grant The Salty permission to film, photograph, or otherwise record you.
  • Use of content: These recordings may be used in promotional, editorial, or commercial materials worldwide and in any format.
  • No approval or payment: You waive any rights to inspect, approve, or request payment for the use of such content.
  • Opt-out requests: You may notify us in writing before arrival if you do not wish to appear in media. While we will do our best, exclusion may not always be possible in group settings. No refunds or discounts will be offered for refusal to appear.
  • Editorial control: All creative and publishing rights remain with The Salty.
