The Role
Camera in hand, toes in the sand — this isn’t your average photography gig. As a Photographer | Content Collecting Teamer at The Salty, you’ll dive into retreat life, capturing the magic as it happens: sunrise yoga flows, surf stoke, laughter around the dinner table, and those little salty moments that make our retreats unforgettable.
You’re not just behind the lens — you’re part of the crew. Helping out with daily retreat life, chatting with guests, and making sure the vibe stays as golden as the sunsets you’ll be shooting. Think of it as trading your creative eye for the lifestyle of a lifetime.
What You’ll Do
- Shoot the Salty Life: Capture yoga, surf, food, community dinners, hikes, and guest moments — authentic, playful, social-media-ready.
- Content Flow: Work with our social media manager to upload and share content regularly.
- Bring the Vibes: Be friendly and approachable — help guests feel at ease in front of the camera.
- Team Spirit: Jump in with light retreat support — from tidying spaces to helping with meals and welcoming guests.
- Creative Freedom: Follow our style guidelines, but bring your own personality to the lens.
What We’re Looking For
- A strong eye for photo + video, especially short-form social content.
- Experience with DSLR, mirrorless, or high-quality mobile setups.
- Confident working with people and making them feel comfortable.
- Flexible, proactive, and happy to support the team beyond just shooting.
- Quick turnaround on content — light editing skills are a bonus.
- Extra points if you’re already into surf, yoga, or the retreat lifestyle.
