The Role
Love good food and a relaxed kitchen vibe? As Kitchen Help at The Salty, you’ll be part of the team bringing our tasty, simple meals to life. From tacos and quesadillas to sourdough pizzas and BBQ nights, you’ll help us serve up food that fuels our guests’ adventures. No fine dining, no fuss — just fresh flavors, great energy, and a kitchen that feels like home.
Whether you’ve already worked in kitchens or you’re just eager to learn, this role is your chance to grow skills while being part of a supportive, international crew.
What You’ll Do
- Prep & Cook: Help prepare our menu of Mexican-inspired dishes, pizzas, and drinks.
- Group Dinners: Support with special evenings like BBQs, Tapas & Wine nights, or Ayurvedic-inspired feasts.
- Keep It Clean: Maintain high hygiene standards, keeping the kitchen tidy and equipment in top shape.
- Stay Stocked: Assist with inventory and ensure we’ve got everything ready for smooth service.
- Guest Interaction: Chat with guests at our open kitchen — friendly faces and good vibes always welcome.
- Team Spirit: Work closely with retreat managers and fellow staff to keep things running smoothly.
What We’re Looking For
- People Person: You enjoy interacting with guests in a warm and approachable way.
- Kitchen Skills: Experience in kitchens or food service is a plus — but enthusiasm and willingness to learn matter just as much.
- Fast Learner: Adaptable, curious, and able to handle a dynamic work environment.
- Detail-Oriented: Cleanliness, hygiene, and organization are second nature to you.
- Good Communicator: Fluent in English (other languages a bonus).
