General Manager @ The Salty
Locations: Cascais, Ericeira, Peniche (Portugal) & Hiriketiya (Sri Lanka)
The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on General Manager to lead daily life at The Salty. You’ll be the one who keeps everything flowing — inspiring the team, making sure our guests feel at home, and keeping operations smooth from check-in to sunset yoga. Think of it as part leader, part host, part problem-solver and always the vibe-setter.
What You’ll Do
- Lead & Support the Team: Create a positive, motivated atmosphere where everyone thrives.
- Guest Experience: Be present, approachable, and proactive. Every guest should feel welcome, connected, and cared for.
- Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee reception, housekeeping, food & beverage, and activities. Keep things running seamlessly.
- Financial Awareness: Make sure bookings, extras (surf, yoga, activities), and sales are tracked accurately. Support growth by keeping systems tight.
- Feedback & Improvement: Listen to guests, share insights with HQ, and drive continuous improvements.
- Activity Coordination: Schedule and support surf lessons, yoga, hikes, and dinners so everything flows effortlessly.
- Standards & Procedures: Keep The Salty vibe consistent across all retreats by maintaining our standards.
- Communication: Be the main contact for guests, reservations, and HQ — balancing WhatsApp chats, guest app messages, and on-site conversations.
What We’re Looking For
- Natural Leader: You can motivate a team, stay calm under pressure, and keep the energy positive.
- Guest-First Mindset: You genuinely care about people and know how to make them feel at home.
- Operational Experience: You’ve managed hospitality or retreat spaces before and understand the moving parts.
- Strong Communicator: Fluent in English (other languages a bonus). Warm, clear, and approachable.
- Adaptable & Positive: Challenges don’t throw you — you find solutions and keep smiling.
